Reconciliation: More than a Word

Connected Schools staff came together at the end of last term to take part in our inaugural Reconciliation: More than a Word Conference. The day was an amazing opportunity to develop a deeper awareness and understanding, as well as a great chance to celebrate the launch of our Vision for Reconciliation across our Connected Schools sites.
A huge thank you to all involved, including Kuma Kaaru for leading our Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, our Plenary Speakers, Brooke Prentis, CEO of Common Grace, and Shona Reid, CEO of Reconciliation South Australia, for delivering thought-provoking keynotes, and our additional 14 Spotlight Session Presenters that further explored First Nation Australians, their history, cultures, and stories through art, food, artefacts, speech and film.
The day was a huge success and an essential learning experience on our reconciliation journey so we as a community can take action and nurture respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and others within the community.
